It is now one of the largest corporations in the world, the Walt Disney Company started as a small animation studio in the garage of Walt and Roy Disney's grandfather. This tiny venture was founded on October 16, 1923-- and in 2006, Walt Disney's company had grown to revenues of $34.3 billion.


The very first task the Disney bros dealt with was a series entitled Alice's Wonderland, and in 1925, Walt Disney encouraged his sibling to relabel the studio to Walt Disney Studios. The Walt Disney World Resort opened in Orlando, Florida in 1971, and Disney began to make its venture into live-action movies. There were many ups and downs in the years following Walt's death, the company continued to make a name for itself and create ahead to brand-new grounds.
